Tynan Abbey was originally called Fairview and was the home of the Manson family.

It was subsquently home to the Strong family until the 1980's when the building was attacked by terrorists and the last two resident members of the family murdered. In the winter of 1998 the shell of this once magnificent residence was demolished.
